Notes and Photos from our puppy families - November 2008

Hello Gail!

Just a little update on our wonderful little Patrick (born 3/14/2008)!  He continues to be a perfect addition to our family.  He loves our grandchildren, David 8 & Julianna 4.  I have included  recent pictures of him (before haircut & after)!  He loves to go to the park each day with my husband.  He just runs & runs & runs!  Everyone who meets him thinks he is so adorable.

We had to have him shaved as he developed a bunch of mats.  I tried to brush & comb him regularly, but somehow I didn't do it well enough.  The groomer told me that when his fleece grows in a bit she will show me how to keep up with him.  He still looks adorable, though we didn't recognize him when we went to pick him up.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Whispering Winds Bella  DOB: March 29, 2008

Dam: Whispering Winds Lady Pink   Sire: aAprina's in Boo-Boo's E-3 "Taz"

Hi Gail,

I’ve been watching for the birth of the new litter from Lady Pink and Taz.  What a beautiful bunch they are (and will become). Congratulations. Whoever adopts one of those puppies will surely be as delighted as we are with our Bella!  Perhaps the Obama Family?

The time flies by so fast and although I think of you every day (as the ultimate dogmother) I haven’t let you know about just how well things are going for us.  Bella is so unbelievably good, that we delight in her being naughty.  She loves to carry our shoes around (gingerly) but never really damages them.  Everything that she does is remarkably gentle.  She is so funny when trying to get attention and even loves to watch TV.  She actually likes to monitor our TV watching.   If any animal is seen or heard from on TV she barks until we change the channel.  Not to say that she’s a barker – actually the opposite is true.  Days will go by without us ever hearing her voice.

When Bella came home with us she was already 4 months old and was quite shy with people and other dogs.  She has gradually emerged from that shell and enjoys more and more activities all the time.  We have so enjoyed being part of her transition.  Now she has some really fun dog friends and even people friends, too.  She attended a dog training class and did quite well there.  She LOVES to play ball and is glad to bring it back to me.  She runs so gracefully that I am considering agility training in her future.

The hard part about having such an adorable dog is that I can’t take her anywhere without being stopped and questioned about her breed, etc.  The people in her dog class all agreed that she is the most beautiful labradoodle ever.  And who am I to argue with that?

Our Bella was from Lady Pink’s first litter and as far as I’m concerned, there could be no better lineage!  I’ve been a dog lover and owner my whole life and I could not have imagined a more loveable pet than Bella!

Bella is 7 months old.  She is 28 pounds and about 17’’ tall.  Your predictions were right on.  I have attached a photo.

Thanks for raising such wonderful animals.  I honestly don’t know how you manage it all.  Keep up the great work.

Anne

Gail,

Sorry it took me so long to get these to you.  We were having so much fun with our company and Aussie.  He stole the show this weekend and won over all of our hearts.  When Mary is not with Aussie, she is writing me thank you notes for adopting Aussie!  I don't know if I mentioned it, but Mary is adopted from China and loves the fact that Aussie is adopted as well.  Patrick is a musician and plays guitar and viola...both really well.  Aussie loves it and Patrick leads him around the room for fun.  He follows the music!  We love him so much.  He is already such an important part of the family.

I will try to send more photos soon.

Sheila
